About the contest

1. Aim of the contest

As part of "Young Creator Challenge Project 2014," we are sponsoring a video contest for 10 to 18 year old youth, aiming to promote understanding of the media art, which attracts attention as a new cultural/artistic genre, broadening the base of culture, and supporting information dissemination outside and within the prefecture.

The project is partially granted funds from the arts and culture promotional cost subsidies "Local culture and arts creation dissemination initiative" of the Agency for Cultural Affairs.

3. Theme

"Saga Prefecture"

Create and submit a video clip which epitomizes or portrays "Saga" or your "image of Saga Prefecture." Applicants are not required to have lived or traveled in Saga. The only requirement is that the video clip portrays your own image of Saga Prefecture. "Young Creators" may submit as many entries as they choose.

5. Applicant's qualification requirements

(1) Youth age 10 to 18 as of April 1, 2015

(The ages correspond to the fourth through the twelfth grade.)

Groups may also apply.

All applicants require the consent of their parent or other legal guardian.

(2). A "YouTube" account is required for application.

6. Entry requirements

The video clip must be no more than five minutes.
Applicants may submit as many as they like.
For the detailed rules and regulations of the entry, refer to the "Application Rules."

7. How to apply

(i). The applicants (or the representatives for groups) or the parents or other legal guardians should upload the entry set up for limited viewing using their own YouTube account.

(ii). Fill in the application form on the official Web site providing the limited viewing URL of the entry work and submit the form.

(iii). The organizer will confirm that the entry meets all the requirements and send out the message of reception after processing is completed.

(4) After receiving the reception message from the organizer, applicants may cancel the limited viewing setting or upload to another site if they want another video sharing site other than YouTube.

(5). Notify the organizer the URL of the published entry.

* Contact information will be provided after the application is received and the processing is completed.

* When you contact us using a cellular phone or Web mail, be sure to set up so that messages from "@hq.cri.co.jp" should not go into your spam folder.

About the selection

8. Selection criteria

The organizer will review all entries rigorously and impartially and make selection based on the following:

Theme: How well the theme "Saga Prefecture" is utilized.
View point: How original the entry is.
Publicity: How much impact the entry has and how much a viewer wants to recommend it to a friend.
Future potential: Whether the viewer wants to see next work or expects for next work.

* The number of views on YouTube, for instance, may be considered for evaluating publicity. This will not guarantee any selection, but try to have your work viewed by as many people as possible to increase the number of views.

11. Announcement of awards

Awards will be announced at an award ceremony to be held in February 2015. (Winners will be notified by the beginning of February via phone or e-mail.)

Questions concerning the reception, selection, and award confirmation of the entries are not accepted.

12. Copyrights and use of the entry works

Copyrights for all videos shall belong to their respective applicants.

13. Other

Applicants should agree with these guidelines and the "Application Rules." Read the "Application Rules" carefully. Submit the application only if you agree with them.

Either an individual or a group may apply. However, all the members of the group will require the consent of their respective parent or other legal guardian.

No application through any YouTube account which is not consistent with the spirit of the contest is acceptable.
